Curriculum Intent

At Ardley Hill Academy, our PE curriculum provides children with the opportunities to engage in a wide range of physical activities designed to develop competency in the fundamental movement skills.

The curriculum offers all pupils the chance to challenge themselves whilst learning resilience in order to achieve and improve both as an individual and as part of a team.

Our curriculum teaches children to engage and be active participants in their own learning, directing them to be responsible for their own health and well-being, understanding the importance of exercise and aspiring to being the best they can possibly be.

Children will develop their social skills through learning effective communication whilst also taking part in competitive activities both within and outside of school.

Upon leaving Ardley Hill Academy, all pupils have the understanding of what it means to lead an active and healthy lifestyle but also an enjoyment of sport and the knowledge of how to develop their skills further.
