Our Learning – PE

Intra School Sports competition

This year Ardley Hill will be hosting its own sports competition for Years 2 to 6. Every half term each class will compete against their corresponding year group class in a different sport. The winner of each Year 6 event will also go on to compete against an Ardley Hill staff team!

At the end of the year, the class from each year group with the most points will be crowned champions. There will also be a prize for the winners of Year 6’s vs The Ardley Hill staff team.

The different sports are as follows:

Autumn 1 – Dodgeball

Autumn 2 – Football

Spring 1 – Hockey

Spring 2 – Tag Rugby

Summer 1 – Cricket

Summer 2 – Rounders

Our first sports event will begin the week commencing 7th October. Check back on this page or on our PE display to see pictures, fixtures and results. Good luck!

Dodgeball Competition

The first event of our Intra school sports competition took place before half term with classes in Years 2-6 battling against each other. There was some high quality Dodgeball on show and it was clear to see the children had been working hard on their Dodgeball skills in their PE lessons. The winning Year 6’s got to take on a staff team but unfortunately found the staff had also been busy practicing their Dodgeball skills too!

Please click the link below to see the results. The next event will be football in the week commencing December 9th.

Arsenal Ladies Visit

On Friday the 24th of May, Ardley Hill were lucky enough to be visited by representatives of Arsenal ladies FC and the Bedfordshire FA. The coaches took both our Year 5 and Year 6 girls for football related skills sessions, looking to encourage more girls to join local football. The coaches also took a KS2 assembly, giving the children inside information about the inner workings of Arsenal ladies football club, including player profiles, training regimes and the different job roles within Arsenal ladies.

If your child is interested in getting involved in girls football or you would like some more information then please feel free to speak with either Mr Russell, Mrs Head, Mr Wilby or Mrs Sturdee.
