Welcome to America Class

We are a Year 5 class. Our Teacher is Mrs Bennett and Mrs Smith is our Teaching Assistant.

Class List

Niamh, Jessica, Georgia-Grace, Kailee, Jorja, Adele, Alicia, Jenna, Lola, Gia, Tegan, Isabelle, Freddie, Lewis, George, Joshua, Alfie-Lee, Derico, Stefanut, Summer, Kaylem  and Samuel.
This year we will be learning about Space (mission X), The Ancient Greeks (Groovy Greece) and the Vikings and Anglo Saxons (Raiders and Traders). We follow a creative curriculum and have lots of fun whilst learning.
We are hoping to perform at the 02 Arena in London during the Spring Term. This will be the first time Ardley Hill children will have taken part in the Young Voices Concert. In the Summer Term, some of us will visit Paris for an exciting week long residential trip.
Year 5 is an exciting and challenging year where we learn to be more mature and take a more independent approach to learning.

Our Year!

We have been so busy this year! There have been so many highlights.

We took part in the Mission X space programme, studied the Vikings and Anglo Saxons and learnt all about Ancient Greece!

We ran our own Mini-election where we debated the key parties’ policies during the general election. We decided we would have liked the Green Party to have been voted in – mainly because we liked their idea of a 4 day week!

We have practised our cooking skills and we have made Ratatouille using seasonal ingredients (healthy lunch idea!) as well as preparing a Greek Salad (definitely a healthy family tea idea!) where we worked on our knife skills.

We performed at the O2 Arena in London as art of our Young Voices concert. We were all really nervous but of course, we smashed it!

Some of us went to Paris for 4 nights in May. We were really lucky as we had marvellous weather which meant we could really enjoy the sights. It was really scary climbing the Eiffel Tower but we all made it!

Disney Paris was so cool. We went on all of the rides and stayed there for 11 hours! The fireworks were the best we’ve ever seen.
